Going on to our third virtual Talk Story. With goals and envisioning yourself. In this time of need, we shared what we struggle in the Jaycees. Never to judge one another but to relate and acknowledge. RPJ share the difference of want vs need. We are planning 7 more virtual talk Story sessions. By December if those who attend our virtual talk Story, 7 out of 10 will receive a certificate of completion. Thank you to all the chapters who came. Greatly appreciate you!
On Saturday March 20, 2021, RPJ decided to clean out our storage. Thank you to our Advisor and member Nathan Martin for accommodating his house for our chapter officers retreat. We learned our history, had a better understanding with Project Management Guide, State President Bixby Ho shared with us how to manage our time and did some chapter planning.
This year was our unique way of hosting our virtual Awards And Installation. We are grateful for the Great Chapters who attended our event. A huge shoutout to JCI Hawaii Senate/ Old-Timers, FJC, HCJ, HJJCC, JCI Honolulu, and Hawaii Kai Jaycees. President Shawn’s theme Build, Connect, and Expand reflects on self development and building what 2020 has done. Here’s to 2021!
The Jaycees is an organization that helps young adults between 18 and 40 to develop leadership skills. President Shawn Unemori wanted to help build confidence with members and other chapters under the 2021 theme Build • Connect • Expand. Speaking is a skill that is necessary for our marketing, our meetings, and most importantly our community. We should learn and practice that skill. The Jaycees also have writing and speaking competitions. It’s not about winning or where you place; it’s always about becoming a better you. Development is important. That’s what we value most.
The Virtual Talk Stories are another resource to help you understand what we do. Sometimes we do things without preparing and sometimes we are unaware. While we wait for lockdown restrictions to be gradually lifted, we chose to work on ourselves. It’s time to cultivate great leaders. Join in the fun.
