RPJ Wraps Up Another Duckie Season
Even 20,000 duckies need a hand or two. On Saturday, March 31st, RPJ members and friends converged on the Kalakaua Avenue Bridge to help the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawaii with their 25th Annual Great Hawaiian Rubber Duckie Race. Volunteers launched the duckies into the Ala Wai Canal and retrieved them out of the water at the end of the race. Leading RPJ’s contingent this year was Winston Chow, and there were many familiar and new faces in the crowd of chapter volunteers: Shane Sumida, Jon Nishihara, Elvin Berzabal, Eve Epitome, Nathan Martin and Mike Young. Many thanks also to members from the Honolulu Chinese Jaycees, Filipino Junior Chamber, Hawaii Kai Jaycees, Hilo Jaycees and Illinois Jaycees who also volunteered with the launch and retrieval. Even RPJ needs help! More pics after the break.
