2025 Board of Directors
Ryan John (RJ) Mercado
PRESIDENT
Ryan graduated with a bachelor’s degree in the Academy of Creative Media with a focus in animation and a minor certificate from the Music program and the UH Filipino Language and Literature program. He works for the State of Hawaii, Department of Labor and Industrial Relations as a Facilitator. Ryan has been a member of the Rising Phoenix Jaycees since 2016 and he is deeply committed to furthering the mission of RPJ.
Scott Ferrin
VICE PRESIDENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Scott currently works as a Licensed Social Worker in the medical field. He enjoys being active, traveling and spending time with friends and family. Scott has been an RPJ member since 2021, and hopes to give back to his community by engaging all members to feel empowered to make a difference.
Caleb Ige
TREASURER
Caleb currently works for ShipToHawaii. He enjoys volleyball, movies and playing board games. He hopes to help support others in continuing the RPJ heart for community.
Kelsey Yoshikane
SECRETARY
Kelsey works in the public sector, assisting the public one computer at a time. She is an ambitious and passionate individual dedicated to making a meaningful impact during her term with the RPJ. She aims to bring innovative ideas and a fresh perspective to the organization. Through her leadership, she hopes to inspire others to join her in making a difference.
Russ Chinaka
SPORTS DIRECTOR
Russ is a graduate from the hills of Kalaepohaku. He may look a bit mean but he's easy to talk to. Family, friends and music are what keeps him grounded in this life. If it wasn't for Caleb blocking him, Russ would have won the volleyball game at Halawa, twice. Referee flags are red, the volleyball is part blue, Russ promises to work as a team, to serve me and you.
Kristen Tanji
MARKETING DIRECTOR
Kristen currently works in the health insurance field, improving the lives of members and the health of Hawaii. She enjoys playing volleyball, traveling, and trying new restaurants. Kristen has been a member of RPJ for 5+ years and looks forward to creating more opportunities for our members and community.
