For many RPJ members, Thanksgiving wasn’t just about eating mountains of food and watching the Dallas Cowboys get carved up by the Buffalo Bills (sorry Dallas fans), it also meant getting up at the crack of dawn and volunteering for Lanakila Pacific’s Meals-on-Wheels. Several RPJ members and friends annually volunteer their Thanksgiving mornings (and part of the afternoons) delivering turkey meals and gift boxes to home-bound kupuna. RPJ’s service also gives many of Lanakila Pacific’s outstanding daily delivery volunteers the holiday off to spend with their families. The bulk of RPJ’s routes this year were on the west side of the island. A special mahalo to Lila Johiro for organizing the routes and keeping order in the distribution area.
