Chapter again hosting program honoring Hawaii’s finest young people

We are seeking nominations for the Hawaii Jaycees’ Three Outstanding Young Persons Award (TOYP). The TOYP Award is presented to the top three young people in Hawaii as selected by a blue-ribbon panel of judges. Membership in the jaycees is not a requirement to enter. Please visit www.toyphawaii.org to learn more about the award or read a little bit about it after the break.

Honorees selected for the TOYP award exemplify the best attributes of the state’s young people. Many go on to even greater achievements, and all continue to serve humanity. The three honorees are then entered into the United States Junior Chamber’s Ten Outstanding Young Americans program. Last year’s recipients for Hawaii’s TOYP Awards were Dr. Julius Soria, B.J. Penn, and Devin Nakasone. Devin, a musician and the founder of Prayers on Wings, was later selected as one of the nation’s Ten Outstanding Young Americans, joining a very select club that includes Bill Clinton, John F. Kennedy, and fellow Aloha State honorees Shane Victorino and Tulsi Gabbard.
