Please take advantage of this free three-part training and leadership development opportunity hosted by the Rising Phoenix Jaycees!

While the training is optional, we have exciting speakers confirmed that will be sharing their knowledge on the legislative, political, and elections process. For those who would like to attend the main event, please note that the orientation is required. If you cannot make the orientation, let us know and we will work to get you the materials otherwise. This is a perfect opportunity to dress sharp, speak up, and learn with fellow Hawaii Jaycees and other community members.

This Saturday, July 13, the Rising Phoenix Jaycees will be hosting a Mock Legislature training session at Moiliili Community Center Room 105 starting at 1:00 p.m. The event kicks off the process leading up to this year’s Model Legislature at the State Capitol. At the July 13 training, there will be speaking appearances from Sen. Glenn Wakai, Francis Choe (Young Democrats of Hawaii) and Carmille Lim (Executive Director of Common Cause Hawaii). A representative from the Public Access Room will also go over information such as the general legislative process, how to submit testimony, etc. REGISTER HERE: http://bit.ly/114Xvhx
FOLLOWING EVENTS:
Calling all interested Jaycees and community members! Leading up to this year’s Model Legislature, we will be hosting a mandatory orientation for those who plan to participate in the 2013 Model Legislature event. We will cover the basics of bills we will be debating, assign tentative roles to attendees, and learn a lot about the legislative process. This orientation is perfect for those interested in government or in the legislative process in general.
The Model Legislature Orientation will be held on Sunday, July 21 at MCC Room 105 from 1:30PM – 4:30PM. The program starts at 2PM. REGISTER HERE: http://bit.ly/13JW4DF
OUR MAIN EVENT:
On Saturday, July 27, the Rising Phoenix Jaycees will host a Model Legislature at the Hawaii State Capitol. This exciting training opportunity will give young professionals the opportunity to step into the lives of Hawaii’s lawmakers. Please RSVP and encourage fellow chapter members to attend. Certificates of completion will be given to all attendees of the 2013 Model Legislature. The program will run from the morning to the early afternoon. Specific itinerary coming soon.
