Spikes for Tykes 2012: Everyone's a Winner!

Annual Tournament Draws Most Teams and Donates Most Money in 5-year History
RPJ’s 5th Annual Spikes for Tykes Benefit Volleyball Tournament crowned three new champions last Saturday, October 20th at Manoa District Park. Analu Frantz’ Eighthisle won the Men’s Division; Kari Namoku’s Hi’s Finest took home the Women’s title; and Jamie Iwata’s Us was the last team standing in the Coed bracket. Thirty-two teams competed this year, the most ever for the tournament.
The event benefited the chapter’s Adopt-A-School-Day project, and $1000 each was donated to Kalakaua Middle School and Moanalua High School. Another $500 was donated to Ka Ulukoa Volleyball Institute for their support since the inception of the tournament five years ago. A presentation was made to the three organizations during intermission, and the $2500 was the most money ever donated by the tournament.
Mahalo to title sponsors Young’s Fishmarket and Sky Painting for their generous contributions. Many thanks also to our silver sponsors ING Financial Partners and Auto Detail Aces. Thank you also to The Clock and Trophy Shop and OfficeMax for in-kind donations.
