New Assignments for this year’s Aukake Classic
RPJ will be helping with the Soccer and Bocce Ball awards presentation for this year’s Special Olympics Aukake Classic, Sunday, August 22, from 10 am to 3 pm. The chapter needs a total of 18 volunteers: 8 for the Soccer Awards from 10 am to 3 pm, and 10 for the Bocce Ball Awards from 11 am to 3 pm. We will escort athletes to the awards podium where they will receive their medals. As usual, all volunteers get food, drinks, snacks, fruit, etc, at the Volunteer Hospitality Tent. Wai’au Neighborhood Park
98-1650 Kaahumanu Street
Pearl City, Hawaii

Directions:
Westbound: Take H-1 west to Interstate H201/HI-78W via exit 19B toward Fort Shafter/Aiea. Merge onto Kamehameha Highway/HI-99W via the exit on the left toward Pearlridge/Pearl City. Turn right onto Kaahumanu Street (before Burger King). Continue up on Kaahumanu and Wai’au District Park will be on your left, after the Fire Station.
Eastbound: Take H-1 east. Take exit #10 toward Waimalu/Pearlridge. Merge right onto Moanalua Road and turn left onto Kaahumanu Street (1st intersection). Continue up on Kaahumanu and Wai’au District Park will be on your left, after the Fire Station.
Parking
Free parking is available in the Wai’au District Park parking lots. Lots of street parking is also available around the park.
Attire:
Please dress comfortably. You will be outdoors, so feel free to bring a hat and don’t forget your sun screen! Covered shoes must be worn and a free volunteer t-shirt will be provided and issued at Volunteer Check In. If you already have a VOLUNTEER shirt, feel free to wear it!
Volunteer Check In:
All volunteers must register at Volunteer Check In, located near the center of the park. A tent, with signs will be set up. Please bring a picture I.D. for verification. Prior to your shift, you will be briefed on your volunteer role by the Venue Coordinator. Please be on time and we do ask that you stay until your entire shift is completed.
Volunteer Hospitality:
Food, drinks and snacks will be available to all volunteers in the Volunteer Hospitality Tent.
Volunteer Certificates:
Upon completion of your volunteer shift, Certificates of Appreciation can be picked up at Volunteer Check In. Letters to schools, Commanding Officers, etc. can also be requested after the games are completed.
